EMDR Intensives
Focused & Innovative Trauma Therapy
An EMDR Intensive is a personalised, extended-format EMDR therapy session delivered over a full-day or a series of full-day sessions.
When compared to standard 50-minute sessions, this model offers an opportunity to engage deeply in trauma-focused therapy in a concentrated, time-efficient format.
For example, one full day EMDR Intensive may be equivalent to 6–8 standard 50 minute sessions which would usually take place over several months.
This intensive format will suit those who are already engaged with a primary therapist, or who would like to try an alternative and immersive approach to therapy.
What to Expect
-
Your EMDR Intensive experience will be carefully structured and personalised to your unique needs and therapy goals.
We begin with two 90-minute pre-Intensive assessment sessions to allow me to get to know you, understand your history, goals and current challenges.
You’ll receive a Guidebook to help you prepare for your Intensive. This also serves as a reflective workbook to support your experience.
-
Your Intensive day is designed to provide focused and concentrated EMDR therapy at your pace.
This format is designed to support deeper therapeutic work in a shorter timeframe.
The schedule incorporates planned breaks to support processing and integration.
-
To consolidate your therapeutic gains, a 60-minute Integration session is scheduled approximately one week after your Intensive.
This session provides space to reflect, integrate, and discuss next steps.
A summary report is provided to your referrer, primary therapist, or funding body. This report outlines your progress toward your therapeutic goals and offers treatment recommendations to support your ongoing care.
